PAVO seeks a Deputy Executive Director (Executive Director–in-Training) to support association operations, governance, and strategic leadership while preparing to assume full Executive Director responsibilities. This position is intentionally structured as a leadership succession role, providing progressive exposure to executive management, Board relations, financial oversight, and member services within a national sports‑officials organization.The Deputy Executive Director works closely with the direct report - the Executive Director.
The dynamic nature of this position requires that the ideal candidate will interact seamlessly and with a professional demeanor across a broad range of individuals including the current Executive Director, members of the Board of Directors, senior association staff, association members, Affiliated Board leadership, and other staff and contractors who report to the Executive Director to ensure operational continuity, organizational effectiveness, and long term sustainability.
