Advanced Referee Camps

Immerse yourself in an elite experience at a PAVO Advanced Referee Camp! Designed for experienced collegiate referees who aspire to break into the top-tier Division I conferences and/or are preparing to pursue a PAVO National Referee certification in the upcoming fall season, these highly competitive camps offer unmatched opportunities for participants to elevate their game. At these camps, participants will have the opportunity to challenge their skills, refine their techniques, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-level environment under the instruction and guidance of top-tier instructors. This is more than just a training campit's a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their skills, gain recognition, and take a significant step toward the next level of their collegiate officiating careers!

Participants who excel at a PAVO Advanced Referee Camp may receive a recommendation for their 2026 NRT Application. However, a recommendation is not guaranteed and is contingent upon the approval of the camp staff. Current PAVO National Referees can also earn a point toward their certification renewal following a successful performance at a PAVO Advanced Referee Camp.


NEW IN 2026! PAVO Advanced Referee Camps are raising the bar! In addition to the traditional, high-level referee training, participants will now have the opportunity to experience a specialized Challenge Review System (CRS) training session. This dynamic new addition combines an in-depth classroom training module with hands-on CRS practice, giving participants the opportunity to:

  • Review plays using DVSport and Echo challenge review systems
  • Participate in mock challenge scenarios
  • Gain experience with push-to-talk microphone technology


Each participant will also receive video recordings with voice-over commentary, delivered on a keepsake USB driveallowing participants to review, reflect, and continue developing their skill set long after the camp ends.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for participants to master advanced officiating tools and elevate their game like never before!


The application window closed on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:59 PM (CT).

The registration fee is $500 for PAVO members and $700 for non-members.

The completed application must be electronically submitted by the registration deadline. Additionally, the full registration fee must be paid online, via the PAVO E-Store, by the same deadline.

All Advanced Referee Camp applicants will be notified of their acceptance status within one week of the registration deadline. If your application is NOT selected, PAVO will issue a full refund to the credit card used for payment.

March 27-28, 2026 - Houston FAST Complex (Houston, TX). Registration is closed.

PAVO is excited to return to this premier collegiate showcase tournament, hosted by the Houston Juniors Volleyball Club and renowned for its fierce, high-level competition. Competing teams include top Division I programs from the American, Big XII, C-USA, SEC, Southland, and SWAC Conferences, providing an intense, fast-paced environment that offers participants an unparalleled opportunity to hone their skills and gain invaluable collegiate experience. Camp participants will receive personalized, video-recorded feedback from our expert trainers, along with a keepsake USB drive containing all videos for continued review and skill development.

Accepted participants from out of town are encouraged to fly into either the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) or the William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). IAH is a bit closer to the playing venue.


April 3-4, 2026 - Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA).  Registration is closed.

PAVO is excited to return to Georgia Tech to offer participants an elite camp experience. This collegiate invitational tournament boasts intense competition, and the action will be fierce with teams from the ACC, SEC, and various other Division I conferences battling it out on the court. Camp participants will receive personalized, video-recorded feedback from our expert trainers, along with a keepsake USB drive containing all videos for continued review and skill development.

The Big South Qualifier (BSQ) will take place at the nearby Georgia World Congress Center from April 3-5, 2026. Participants who are accepted to this PAVO camp and commit to working a half day on Friday and a full day on Sunday at the qualifier will receive complimentary housing and compensation for working the qualifier. For those who wish to register for the qualifier, please register for the tournament ("2026 NIKE Big South National Qualifier WKND 2") on the SportWrench website. If you do not already have a SportWrench account, you will need to create one. When registering for the tournament on SportWrench, please indicate that you are participating in the PAVO camp and are only available to officiate the AM wave on Friday and on Sunday.
