PAVO Basic Line Judge Training

PAVO Basic Line Judge Training Clinics Program

Purpose: To provide line judges with on-court opportunities in a competitive setting that allows for feedback and constructive criticism. It is also an opportunity for participants to complete several of the requirements for Basic Line Judge certification. Participants should be challenged to learn and develop their line judging skills while gaining a better appreciation of the intricacies of volleyball officiating.

Since 2002, PAVO has been offering officials' training camps, and in 2016 began incorporating line judge training into the camps program. However, given the growing nationwide demand for trained and certified line judges at various levels, PAVO has made a commitment to expanding funding for programming efforts dedicated solely to line judge training, development, and certification. With a mission and focus much the same as PAVO Training Camps, PAVO Basic Line Judge Training Clinics will feature geographic diversity and competitive variation and will be held each Spring/Summer in a variety of tournament settings – women’s collegiate play, men's and women's collegiate club, and juniors. By design, PAVO programming strives to appeal to officials of all skill levels by offering on-court training opportunities that may expose the participant to a higher level of play than they have previously experienced.

Online registration through the PAVO E-Store is mandatory for all PAVO Basic Line Judge Training Clinics.
